How to Refinish Outdoor Wood Furniture

April 1, 2017 March 3, 2018 Renee Romeo3147 views

How to refinish outdoor wood furniture.

This is a tutorial on how to refinish outdoor wood furniture. Refinishing your outdoor wood furniture seems like a daunting task to some people. I will take the mystery out of furniture refinishing. I do a project like this every four to five years to keep my outdoor wood surfaces looking their best. This intro to outdoor furniture refinishing will teach you all the the basics to get the job done well.

Will the outdoor wood furniture last?

I will show you how to create a finish that will last for many years before you need to touch up the wood. If you live in a climate that sees very little weather, your surfaces will last longer. For those of us that live in wet and snowy regions, I suggest covering the furniture if it goes unused for long periods of time. I leave my furniture out year round because a roof partially protects the finish for me. The durability of your furniture finish will amaze you if you follow my instructional tutorial.

Learn how to refinish the right way.

Yes. It doesn’t take much time to refinish the surface of your wood furniture either. By choosing the right tools, products and the techniques, you will be able to make your project less time consuming. You need to stain this project outdoors, on a good weather day to avoid harmful fumes. The final finish can be done in an indoor area where the furniture is free from insects – if you live in a buggy area of the world. You don’t want a bug landing and getting trapped in your finish. So, follow along with me and I will show you my proven technique for achieving a picture perfect on outdoor wood furniture. I’ll even throw in some faux finishing artistry that I perform on my table base.
