It’s possible to DIY build and upholster a tufted ottoman from the ground up! You only need some simple tools, a few supplies and a little patience to make this project a reality. This designer-ready ottoman is perfect for areas of your home where you could use an extra seat, foot rest or place for your guest’s luggage. Why DIY?
You control the size and the style. It will fit with traditional or modern decor, depending upon the fabric and foot style used. It is very easy to see this simple, rectangular design take on different looks. I’m also using nail head trim on this ottoman. You could try different trims such as fabric, metal, rhinestone, or other pasmanterie appropriate for this project. I can visualize them used en mass to create one giant, mobile coffee table/ seating area. Grab a pretty serving tray and it becomes a stable surface for food and drinks. I have moved mine form the living room, to the guest bedroom and then finally to the master bedroom because I have chosen neutral fabric. If you pick a neutral color that compliments most things, you will have the ability to move yours from room to room too. Our kitties simply LOVE to nap on them too!
