How to Patch and Repair Drywall

March 9, 2018 September 29, 2019 Renee Romeo2625 views

Learn how to patch and repair drywall.

I will teach you how to patch and repair drywall in this video tutorial. This is an easy job to do. The whole process takes four days to complete (due to drying time) but each session is really quick. If the tools intimidate you, don’t let them. Everyone needs putty knives in their toolkit  because you never know when a mishap will occur. This patch and repair method works on all surfaces, from walls to ceilings. If you have holes, dents or scuffs, the repair process is basically the same. Once you attempt patching, you will be ready to tackle any drywall project, however big or small.

You need to learn how to do this!

My patch and repair drywall project is a result of unintentionally pulling a bracket off the wall. Vacuum cleaner hoses tend to be heavy and bulky. The hose bracket is made for holding the giant hose and the bracket installation was made with hollow wall plugs. The two wall plugs are rated at 75 pounds each. However, wall plugs can’t stand up to the force of pushing and pulling without giving way. This is case where the bracket won the fight and took the wall plugs with it.

My patch and repair drywall project is quick and easy.

I take you through all the required tools. All you have to do is download [download id=”1746″]. This process works for walls and ceilings too. If you have paper tape that is bubbling up beneath your paint surface, this method works for that issue as well. This is one of the basic functions that every homeowner or apartment dweller must know. Accidents happen and you need to be ready to fix drywall damage when it occurs. This video addresses how to fix small to medium size holes that require reinforcement to get the joint compound to adhere to the empty wall surface.
