Here are 4 ways to sharpen a knife.
Today, I’m presenting 4 ways to sharpen a knife. This video allows you to become an ‘expert’ knife and blade sharpener. Gone are the days when a Cobbler does this type of sharpening for you. We used to have a man come through our neighborhood with a cart and sharpening devices every Spring. He rang his cart bell and we would scramble to gather up all our dull tools for him. The best thing about knowing how to do this for yourself is that you don’t have to rely on someone else’s schedule. The job gets done exactly when you need it to.
Learn how to sharpen ANY blade!
I’m demonstrating how I sharpen my knives, scissors and blades to have the sharpest edges. Most chefs tell you that the most dangerous thing in the kitchen is a dull knife. We can all agree on that. Slicing a finger open is no fun! I have small cherry tomatoes that I’m using to test my competency at knife sharpening. The larger tomatoes in my garden aren’t ready for picking today (but that’s another story…). It’s also amazing what you can do with a single piece of white printer paper. This piece of paper will help you get the sharpest blade imaginable – really! Are there more than 4 ways to sharpen a knife?
Yes, but that’s also another story. Think barber shop! All four ways to sharpen a knife (or blade) are cheap, fast and easy to do. If you remain consistent with your blade sharpening schedule, you will never have a dull blade around the house again. You will never have a dangerous implement in your kitchen space either. Choose one method and stick with it. You will never be sorry that you watched this video!
