These cookies are also pretty simple to shape and decorate too. You can willingly get your older children and teenagers to lend a hand in the shaping and decorating process. They will want to try and out-do one another for the most realistic look. There is no need to be artistic because the worse these look, the better! I’ll show you how to mix, shape and bake these incredibly tasty shortbread cookies.
Here is the recipe for Halloween zombie finger cookies:
Heat your oven to 350 degrees. Have cookie sheets lined with parchment paper waiting nearby.
- 4 tablespoons red food coloring
- 50 slivered almonds
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 sticks (16 tablespoons) unsalted butter , at room temperature
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- cocoa powder (for dusting)
