3 Easy Ways to Make Furniture Look Expensive

June 27, 2017 March 3, 2018 Renee Romeo4150 views

Today I am sharing 3 easy ways to make furniture look expensive.

Yes, there are 3 easy ways to make furniture look expensive. If you have a furniture piece that’s looking a little tired, this project is for you. A few simple changes to your existing furniture can help to make it look like you spent more than you actually did! You don’t (necessarily) need to paint or re-stain the piece to achieve an elevated look.

Can you really make furniture look expensive?

Yes. Even IKEA furniture! The great thing about making a simple change to your furniture is that the transformation happens so easily, you’ll kick yourself for NOT thinking of how to do this sooner. Best yet, my simple changes are inexpensive and don’t require specialized tools. I come across furniture pieces at consignment stores and antique warehouses that don’t blend very well with my traditional decor style. I visualize them after applying this process and several times have made the purchase. Many of you have found furniture pieces that you love but can’t quite embrace all the cheap looking decorative features of that piece, like me. This method of making furniture look more expensive will help to blend your furnishings together and make the room look like a million!

This video tutorial highlights a cheap looking vanity. We’ve all seen them at kitchen and bath stores, where the target market is a young girl. I have a small space in my master bath that requires a petite vanity for applying makeup. I’m not a young girl but based on the size and my budget constraint, this is my only choice. After two years of looking, it’s now in my master bath.

I’m happy to share my 3 easy ways to accomplish this.

You can now see how the pros make furniture look more expensive. The furniture now blends harmoniously with more expensive features in the room, even with the marble floors and cherry cabinets.
